Help Haiti and RCS Sport will work together to raise funds that will be able to create a complex of buildings , designed by engineer Guerdy Celestin , with the aim to welcome , accommodate and give support to the people of Haiti and to the volunteers who stay for long time in these lands .
All this is " Kay : together in joy "
The project was born in the mid-90s, when few families of adoptive Haitian children began to consider the possibility of creating a place in Haiti that could house their children eager to know about their birth place , without burdening the limited resources of the Sisters of the mission “Daughters of Mary Help of Christians” of Cite Militaire.
Thus it was born Kay, together in joy, where “Kay” in Creole, means home.
The first land aimed at this project were purchased in 1997, but reflecting on the needs that were arising during the development of the other project “Recovery street children”, it was decided to transfer the ownership of the land and structures to the Salesian Sisters, maintaining the commitment as contributory association of adoptive families to the realization of planned facilities.
Unfortunately, the earthquake of 2010 caused a stop to the work and a shift of all available resources to restore the damage to existing facilities, thereby diverting the attention from the project for 5 years.
In 2015 thanks to the collaboration with RCS, the project will be introduced in the “Rete del Dono” with the aim to raise funds just to complete this ambitious project.
